Hydrodynamics-Acoustics- Kinetics

We study energy transfers at any scale, as well as their applications: thermal-hydrodynamic instabilities, chemical kinetics, hydrodynamics and acoustics in the context of marine systems (immersed plates, water turbines).

The team is structured around themes related to energy transfers at either the macroscopic scale (hydrodynamics) or the microscopic one (reactivity).

there are four themes under study :

Instabilities and Transition to Turbulence (ITT)
Marine Hydrodynamics (HM)
Underwater Acoustics (ASM)
Reactive Processes(PR).

The 1st group is interested in energy transfers from thermal convection and from addition of flexible macromolecules (elastic turbulence).

The 2nd and 3rd groups are involved in the development of models for the study of flows and for the nondestructive testing of water turbines.
